Hoban Law Group Statement on USDA Announces Timeline for Regulations, Hemp Specific Listening Session Planned for March 13th
It's last call for comments before next week's USDA listening session concerning implementation of the 2018 Farm Bill's hemp provisions!
Despite the government shutdown initially slowing things down for several weeks, USDA appears to be ramping up efforts to establish federal regulations concerning hemp -- an important victory worthy of celebrating!
That said, there is much work to be done. As a reminder, USDA has already indicated its regulations will ideally be established in late 2019, ahead of the 2020 planting season; more details can be found here. And, in the interim, USDA has provided this FAQ.
Hoban Law Group intends to provide commentary to USDA ahead of the listening session and monitor the rule making process. Be sure to check back or contact us for more details after the the listening session, and as more details become available throughout the rule making process.
